Jim’s Trees is one of the Jim’s Group’s core divisions.
We bring Jim’s trademark professionalism and quality to the tree service industry. Customers choose us because they know and trust the Jim’s Group brand, one of Australia’s largest and most awarded franchise businesses.
Tree maintenance and removal is a highly valued service, it helps to keep our homes and our communities beautiful, clean and safe. However, the work of an Arborist is highly technical, dangerous and costly due to the need for safety measures, crews and powerful tools. These challenges often lead smaller tree services to cut costs, resulting in lower quality tools, training or insurance.
Jim’s Trees provide a trusted alternative for customers, eliminating the uncertainty when hiring a tree specialist. Each of our franchises are locally owned, meaning customers can deal with members of their own community while knowing that the values and standards of the business are in line with those of the wider Jim’s Group.
By connecting the successful Jim’s Group framework to the tree industry, we have made safe and reliable tree services accessible to everyone.
Since its inception in 2000, Jim’s Trees has grown to support franchisees across VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA, ACT and New Zealand. This expansion reflects the positive response from our customers and the community for the quality work and friendly customer service that we provide.
Through the hard work of our whole team, including everyone from our admin staff to our onsite crews, we have created a network of tree services that have earned the trust and loyalty of our customers.
At the heart of our business is our relationship with the community. We respect the value of the properties we work on, so we safeguard our clients with a $10 Million insurance policy. We also ensure that all of our team are equipped with the best training and industry tools. By doing this, we inspire confidence in our customers and build trust in the community. The trust of the community is our most valued resource, as it can only be earned through years of delivering high quality service.
By connecting people with our qualified and experienced Arborists we can assist with everything tree-related; from health assessments and wood-chipping, to pruning, removals and stump grinding. We work with local governments, residents and business owners to ensure that trees are maintained and removed in the safest and most environmentally sustainable way.

Perth, WA
Mark has been leading the Perth division of Jim’s Trees since 2004, providing quality service to the region with a focus on building lasting relationships with his customers and the community.
As a qualified Arborist with a Cert. II in Arborculture, Mark enjoys being onsite with his hands on the tools. To meet Perth’s demand, Mark now runs multiple crews and employs three other Arborists.
Mark’s team helps out the Perth Metro and surrounding regions with a wide range of Government and Domestic contracts, helping clients with work for development, council requirements, fence clearing, tree pruning and everything in between.
“We bend over backwards to help our customers – everything from the girls in the office taking the calls to the client getting the final sign off on the job, there’s professionalism about the whole business.”
Canberra, ACT
EVOENERGY-Accredited Tree Surgeons
John has been running the Jim’s Trees franchise in Canberra since October 2018, but his roots in the tree industry go much deeper. He has worked in the tree industry since 2007 and is a Cert. III qualified Arborist. He prefers to explain his credentials in just three words.
“Trained. Qualified. Experienced.”
They’ve needed to expand to meet their growing base of new and returning customers. John now runs a team of 5, including two qualified Arborists accompanied by a ground crew with chainsaw certification.
To help meet this demand and continue to provide quality service, John has supplied his team with new tools and equipment.
Despite the growing team, you’ll still find John onsite. He’s on the tools, meeting clients, providing quotes and climbing trees.
“I love getting to meet a lot of different people, getting to know the community. There’s a good variation of work. Every job is very different, so it keeps us on our toes.”
John’s team are EVOENERGY-Accredited Tree Surgeons. They specialise in vegetation clearance around power lines and maintaining residential trees.
South Sydney, NSW
Glenn has been the owner and operator of a Jim’s Trees Franchise in Sydney’s South since 2014.
As a teenager he enjoyed rock climbing, so the move to climbing trees seemed to him like a natural transition. He has now been working in the tree industry for over 30 years. Glenn is a Cert. V qualified Arborist with a Diploma in Arboriculture.
Working around Sydney’s south, Glenn’s team helps clients with an even mix of tree pruning and removals. While a lot of their work is for overgrown trees and developments, the tree they encounter the most is the Celtis Australis – the European Nettle Tree.
“It’s a major weed tree in Sydney. It grows everywhere and turns into massive problems, I’ve been cutting those out more than almost any other tree. Sometimes people don’t even see it, before they know it, it’s enormous.”
Despite the many years on the job, being out of the office, onsite and climbing trees remains Glenn’s favourite part of the job.
“I like climbing the most, but I still hate the paperwork!”
West Sydney, NSW
Mark has been running the Jim’s Trees Franchise in West Sydney since 2015. A builder by trade, Mark moved into the Tree Services industry in 2009 and is now a qualified Arborist with a Cert. II in Arboriculture.
In terms of the services he provides, Mark says it best.
“We do Arborist Reports, Removals, Pruning, Stump Grinding, everything. Everything across the board.”
To assist him onsite, Mark has a team of two full time employees and a group of contractors for the bigger jobs.
For Mark, the most challenging part of his job is also the most rewarding.
“Climbing is definitely the most challenging part. Physically it can be tough, but it’s a great challenge and when you’ve done it you feel great. It’s my favourite part, ‘cause I love a challenge.”
When it comes to their customer service, Mark says “the proof is in the pudding.”
“We’re getting callbacks from happy customers all the time. Making them happy, doing the right job, that’s it.”
Gold Coast, QLD
Chris has been running a Jim’s Trees franchise on the Gold Coast since mid-2019. He is an experienced business owner and Arborist. Chris has been working in and around trees since he was a teenager.
Now holding a Cert. III in Arboriculture and a Diploma in Horticulture, Chris has developed a wealth of experience working in nurseries, gardening and landscaping.
At 25, Chris returned to the tree industry. He earned his qualifications as an Arborist and saw his interest grew into a passion. While he is particularly skilled at Palm Tree pruning, a service highly in demand on the Gold Coast, he enjoys variety in his work too.
“I like doing small removals, Palm pruning, bit of an all-rounder. I like diversity, lots of different stuff.”
Chris works with a small crew of ground staff to assist him most of the week. On bigger jobs he contracts another Cert. III Arborist who he met during his training.
While Chris is an expert at tree and stump extraction, he also believes in preserving the ecosystem as much as possible.
“I just think that if you start ripping everything out, eventually there’s nothing left. So you want to get that good balance of removal and maintenance.”
Melbourne, VIC
Based in Melbourne, Niko started his career with Jim’s back in the 1990s when he ran a Jim’s Mowing franchise. Drawn to the opportunity to be his own boss, he thrived working within a franchise system and has never looked back.
Through the success of his mowing franchise, Niko found a passion for business. He went on to develop retail outlets, leisure businesses and master franchises. After gaining a wealth of experience in business structures and management, Niko returned to Jim’s in 2010 with a goal of operating at a Franchisor level. For him, Jim’s was the obvious choice.
“The Jim’s brand brings more to the table than any other business I’ve been involved with.”
In 2012 his goal was realised when he became the Jim’s Tree & Stump Removal’s Divisional Franchisor for Australia and New Zealand. Since then Niko has helped the business to flourish, generating over 100,000 brand new clients. This growth looks set to continue, with plans to develop more franchisees in regional areas across Australia and New Zealand.
The most rewarding part of the job for Niko is watching his franchisees succeed. Day to day he is helping them out with their businesses; mentoring them with their business structures, safety programs and staff.
He has a simple bit of advice for anyone looking to build their business experience.
“You’ve got to be out there to learn it, it’s not something you can buy, it’s something you earn and develop over time.”
